Day 1 – Arrival & Journey to Svaneti

Arrival at Kutaisi International Airport and transfer to Svaneti through some of Georgia’s most scenic landscapes.

After hotel check-in, guests will enjoy a welcome dinner and an introduction to the Golden Goblet Expedition, including the history of gold prospecting in Georgia and the adventure ahead.

Day 2 – History, Heritage & Gold Prospecting Training

Discover the rich history of Svaneti through its unique cultural treasures and museum collections.

During the afternoon training session participants will learn:

• How to identify gold-bearing materials

• The role of black sand in gold prospecting

• Traditional gold panning techniques

• Methods used to concentrate gold particles

The day concludes with a special evening dedicated to the legendary journey of the Argonauts and the Golden Fleece.

Day 3 – First Gold Prospecting Experience

The adventure begins.

Participants head to a mountain river where experienced guides introduce practical gold prospecting techniques.

Activities include:

• Collecting river material

• Gold panning

• Black sand concentration

• Searching for natural gold particles

In the evening, enjoy horseback riding and traditional Georgian hospitality.

Day 4 – Gold Prospector Expedition

A full day dedicated to gold prospecting in the rivers of Svaneti.

Participants continue searching for gold and refining their techniques before sorting and packaging their findings.

Each participant receives:

• Gold discovered during the expedition

The day ends with a festive dinner and awards ceremony.

Day 5 – Mountains & Traditions of Svaneti

Explore the stunning landscapes and cultural heritage of Svaneti.
